This intriguing group of polyhedra provides
insight into symmetries, volumes, surface
area, trigonometry, color mapping and other
concepts. Named after Archimedes, who
described these solids in the 2nd century B.C.,
the 13 semiregular solids all have regular faces
but of several types and all vertices are equal.
This project packet provides full color layouts
of all 13 solids on heavy card stock ready for
cutout and assembly. Also included are a classroom poster and a 32-page book
with descriptions and instructions for assembly including an added set of outline
layouts that can be photocopied for student projects. 8-1/2 x 11, 32 pages,
20 full color layout cards, 21-1/2 x 33 full color poster, grades 9-12.
