Item Condition Guidelines

Unless otherwise noted on the item page, item conditions mean the following:

New

Brand new item sealed in original manufacturer packaging.

Used

Used items in all conditions are in working order and include batteries. Hard slide cover is typically included if calculator normally comes with one; soft cases, manuals, cables, software, and other accessories are typically not included.

Used - Good

Good condition items may have scratches, minor dents, markings, missing feet, and other signs of use, but should not have issues that interfere with normal operation or have abnormally extensive cosmetic damage (e.g. much of the unit is painted, significantly worn keys, display issues, etc.)

Used - Acceptable

Acceptable items may have substantially larger cosmetic imperfections and marks and may have more of them. They will not have issues that interfere with use.

Used - Very Good

Very Good items will have very minor cosmetic imperfections and small signs of use.

Used - Like New

Like New items will show few if any signs of use and/or are customer returns of new items without noticeable blemishes.

Budget

Budget units have minor functional defects that do not prevent use such as minor dark spots, a few lines of missing pixels, significant screen scratches, etc. The specific issue will be stated in the condition - for example, Budget - Dark Spot - and will usually be detailed further on the page. These items will be in Acceptable or better cosmetic condition unless otherwise described. Hard slide cover might not be included.

Defective

Defective units do not function or require significant adjustments to use. They are generally being sold for Parts or Repair or for those familiar with the flaw and willing to work around it. The specific defect will be stated in the condition - for example, Defective - No On - and will usually be detailed further on the page. These items may be in any cosmetic condition, might not include batteries or slide covers, and might be missing parts - check item page for details.

If you require more information to make your purchasing decision than is provided on our website or can be quickly given, this service allows you to request it.

You can use this service to ask for presale tasks like:

  • Provide specific additional pictures of, or details about, the actual unit that will be shipped
  • Search stock for a unit with specific serial number ranges, manufacturing details, or other properties
  • Perform specific tests on the unit that will be shipped

If you end up purchasing the unit, we will discount this service based on unit price:

  • Up to $49 - $10 discount
  • $49-199 - $15 discount
  • $199-399 - $20 discount
  • Over $399 - Discount equal to full price of this service

How It Works:

  1. Purchase this item.
  2. Indicate what you need done in the Special Instructions field in the Shopping Cart. Please be specific.
  3. We'll email the details you requested.
  4. If you end up purchasing the unit, mention your purchase of this service in the Special Instructions field; we will apply your discount when we process the order.

Conditions:

  • Pricing is for requests that can be completed in a moderate amount of time without extensive training or research.  Additional charges may apply for tasks that require more than 15-30 minutes; we will contact you for authorization before starting.
  • Other customers may purchase the unit while you decide.  We set the unit aside to make sure you get sent that specific one, but do not turn off ordering.  We will ship different units first, but if yours is all that remains, it will be shipped.  To reserve the unit, order it together with this service.  You will have 5 days to remove the unit from your order and be charged only for this service.
  • This service does not cover tasks that would modify the condition of the unit.  For example, we will not open a sealed item to test the screen or take pictures.
  • This service is not refundable once we start work.
