SGS COGO turns the HP Prime into a complete land-surveying computer.  Now in Version 2! If you already own a Version 1 license, we offer an upgrade to version 2.

Purchase an HP Prime calculator together with the software and save $5! Discount will appear in checkout automatically.

We Install Option: The software will arrive installed on your calculator (separate calculator purchase required.) Calculator packaging will remain sealed. You will need to activate the software yourself after opening.

We Install+Activate Option: The software will arrive installed and activated on your calculator (separate calculator purchase required.) Calculator packaging will be opened by us to allow activation.

SGS COGO Lite offers everyday COGO essentials: 2D point traverse, the core inverse tools (point, curve, angle, point-to-line / curve), all four intersection solvers, area / quick closure, compass-rule adjustment, rotate / mirror / shift, triangle and curve solvers, vertical curves, RPN calculator, and the point database with plot.

Consider SGS COGO Standard for the tools production crews need: subdivide-by-bearing / hinge, full closures, fit-to-line / curve, BLM proportioning, Helmert and 3D-to-cross-section transforms, spiral curves, and ASCII / DXF point import & export.  You may also upgrade to a higher edition at any time.

See Reference Manual for full features and license terms (please note that Standard and Pro features are included in the manual.) Includes full support by the developer and future updates for the same major version. Major version upgrades will be available a substantial discount.  Software in German, Spanish, French, or Portuguese is available upon request.

Special Return Policy Applies: Due to developer license terms, this product cannot be returned once the license key has been provided unless the software was only activated on a calculator you purchased from us and this calculator is returned under our regular Return Policy.

Features:

  • COGO Menu:
    • Point Traverse 2D
      • Standard Mode — Calculate coordinates by direction, distance and optional offset.
      • Angle Right Mode  Calculate coordinates by turned angle from backsight, distance and optional offset.
      • Plus Mode  A complete COGO solution for calculating coordinates by distance and direction, intersection calculations, and inverse calculations.
      • Curve Mode  Calculate coordinates relative to a curve radius point and another point on the curve.
    • Inverse Calculations
      • Inverse Points  Direction, horizontal / slope distances and coordinate deltas between points. Modes: Point-to-Point, Radial Ties and Point Chain. Point-to-Point also returns any station / offset, multiple points by distance interval and offset, or by equal partition and offset.
      • Inverse Curve (Radial Point)  All curve elements from BC, EC, radius point and curve direction. Returns any station / offset along the curve, multiple points by distance interval and offset, or by equal partition and offset.
      • Inverse Curve (Three Point)  All curve elements from BC, EC and any third point on the curve. Returns any station / offset along the curve, multiple points by distance interval and offset, or by equal partition and offset.
      • Inverse Angle  Turned angle at a station from given backsight and foresight points; both distances are also reported.
      • Inverse Point to Line  Perpendicular offset and chainage of a point relative to a 2-point baseline.
      • Inverse Point to Curve  Perpendicular offset and chainage of a point relative to a curve defined by BC, EC and radius point.
    • Intersections
      • Bearing-Bearing  Intersect directions from two known points. Perpendicular offsets can be entered for both directions.
      • Bearing-Distance  Intersect a direction from a known point with a distance to another known point. A perpendicular offset can be entered for the direction.
      • Distance-Distance  Intersect distances from two known points.
      • Distance-Interior Angle  Intersect a distance from a known point with an angle to another known point.
    • Areas / Closures
      • Area by Points  Polygon area from perimeter points, supporting straight and curved segments. Plotted on-screen and exportable to DXF.
      • Quick Closure  Closure check without points or coordinates — also solves for missing dimensions.
  • Adjust Menu:
    • Compass Rule
      • Closed Figure  Compass-rule adjustment on a closed-loop point series or entered dimensions. Reports precision, perimeter and misclose; review pre / post course dimensions and optionally apply the adjustment to coordinates.
      • Close to Fixed Point  Compass-rule adjustment on a point series or entered dimensions closing to a fixed point. Reports precision, length and misclose; review pre / post course dimensions and optionally apply the adjustment to coordinates.
    • Rotate / Mirror
      • Rotate around Base Point  Rotate a series of points around a specified base point by an entered or calculated angle.
      • Rotate around Origin (0,0)  Rotate a series of points around 0,0 by an entered or calculated angle.
      • Mirror along Baseline  Mirror a series of points along a baseline defined by two points.
    • Shift / Average
      • Shift by ΔN / ΔE / ΔZ  Shift a series of points by entering northing / easting / elevation shift values.
      • Shift by Distance and Direction  Shift a series of points by entering a distance and direction.
      • Shift by From / To Points  Shift a series of points by entering two points to shift from / to.
      • Average Points  Compute the average coordinate values of a series of points. Standard deviations of the averaged coordinates and coordinate ranges are calculated.
    • Scale Points
      • Scale from Base Point  Scale a series of points from a base point by specified horizontal and vertical scale factors.
      • Scale from Origin (0,0,0)  Scale a series of points from 0,0,0 by specified horizontal and vertical scale factors.
  • Tools Menu:
    • Triangle Solver
      • Plane Triangle Solver  Solve the remaining parts, area and perimeter of any plane triangle when 3 known parts are provided.
    • Horizonal Curves
      • Circular Curve Solver  Solves all curve parameters from any two inputs (one must be radius or deflection), or from arc + chord length via Newton's method. Outputs tangent offsets and sub-chords by station or interval.
      • Curve Through Fixed Point  Solves a curve required to fit fixed tangents and a fixed point on the curve.
    • Vertical Curves
      • Vertical Curve Solver  Vertical curves from grades or elevations, including fixed-point curves and slope intersections. Solve elevation at any station, station(s) at a given elevation, or all elevations at a fixed interval.
